Sowell on Veterans Day

November 11, 2008

The French Cowboy is rather busy these days, but he wouldn’t want to let Veterans Day pass without a post to honour it.

I am sure there are plenty of good things to read out there in the web that are more related to today’s theme – heck, I know it. But here I want to link to another piece by Thomas Sowell – simply because he’s brilliant and reading him is never a mistake.

Let’s remember our veterans today, grateful for the peace and safety we enjoy thanks to their service and sacrifice.

It is a great honour to stand between those who have to be protected and those who want to destroy them. When this task is the least appreciated it is often a sign of it being a full success. Let’s not let successful protection lead to the disregard of the protectors.
