Ready Your Tin-Foil Hats

August 28, 2009

What’s wrong with the Obama administration? Everything.

Team Obama’s answer to huge national debt and an economic downturn is to increase deficits in an apparent attempt to match them with Obama’s self-regard; with Medicare and Medicaid’s costs running out of control, Obama’s health care ‘reform’ is supposed to basically turn the entire health care system into Medicare; the promised post-racial era continues in the tone set by Obama during the campaign when he claimed that his political opponents attack him on the basis that “he doesn’t look like the other presidents” and has “a funny name”; the administration’s pseudo-offers to their opposition are hardly sufficient to serve even as weak alibis for the alleged hope to govern in a bi-partisan spirit; the ‘most transparent administration ever’ feels free to resist repeated demands for specific documents only because their release would be politically inconvenient to them (or so we must conclude); alleged ‘torture’ is dealt with through handing over captured combatants to countries known to torture their prisoners; the ‘forward-looking’ president outsources the responsibility of a witch hunt among the CIA over alleged prisoner abuses during the former administration to his Attorney General; and on the foreign policy front, Obama has shown too much talent to deny the very country he is serving (or supposed to serve) as president, to be cozy with the scum of foreign leaders, and to alienate allies.

And with this latest move, should it actually come to pass, the Obama administration will positively help anti-American Chavez and his club of inhumane international leaders while pointedly putting a spoke into the wheels of a tiny, poor country that is fighting for the survival of its democratic constitution:

U.S. State Department staff have recommended that the ouster of Honduran President Manuel Zelaya be declared a “military coup,” a U.S. official said on Thursday, a step that could cut off as much as $150 million in U.S. funding to the impoverished Central American nation.

The official, who spoke on condition he not be named, said State Department staff had made such a recommendation to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who has yet to make a decision on the matter although one was likely soon…

Diplomats said that the United States had held off making the formal determination to give diplomacy a chance to yield a negotiated compromise that might allow for Zelaya’s return to power.

Such efforts, however, appear to have failed for now and so the United States is taking steps — including its decision on Tuesday to cease issuing some visas at its embassy in Tegucigalpa — to raise pressure on the de facto government.

The French Cowboy has often been wondering about President Obama’s behaviour, especially with respect to foreign policy issues. With news like this, I’m close to making myself a tin-foil hat and considering Obama to be a manic Communist with the plan to destroy the USA from within the White House, to strengthen every evil and bloody regime on the planet, and to set the stage for the ultimate erosion of everything that is good and right.
